ParlorWatch is a real-time solution for monitoring the
milking and cleaning performance of a dairy parlor. The
system consists of an inline turbine meter and a flow
computer, which connects directly into the ParlorWatch
software, which is installed on your office PC.
Information being monitored includes milk production by
pen and cow, milking times by cow and herd, wash-up
volume with temperature and times. Graphic displays of
the last two months are available for any combination of
the herd and or individual pens. Fee intakes may be
added to the herd graph if desired. Finally, failing
check valves and other inconsistencies can be detected
immediately.

The
ParlorWatch system description
Flow Computer is
weatherproof and usually mounted in the breezeway of the milking parlor
and easily accessible by the workers for pressing the reset button at
the completion of each milking group (pens). Must be connected to AC
power through conduit to a circuit breaker of its own. Turbine is
Stainless Steel (Sanitary – 3A) and usually mounted after the filter and
before the plate cooler. It is best placed horizontally and more than 12
inches from any angles or bends in the pipeline from any direction. If
there is a secondary receiver the turbine should be placed between the
primary receiver jars and the secondary receiver vat. Pickup with Cable
connects the Turbine to the Flow Computer. Custom lengths are available
for this pickup cable. It should be shielded from any electrical or
radio interference to the Flow Computer. Temperature Probe is Teflon
coated, ideally installed after the plate cooler and connects to the
Flow Computer. Custom lengths are available for this Temp Cable. Serial
Cable connects to a serial port on your Windows 95/98/2000 computer.
Custom lengths are available for this cable. It should be shielded from
any electrical or radio interference to the Flow Computer. Parlor Watch
license/program will receive all the inputs from the flow computer.
It will report, graph and store data for further analysis regarding your
milking sessions. Parlor Watch runs best in herds where the milking
schedules are consistent. Individual pens are milked the same number of
times each day. It is possible to have some pens milk 2X and some 3X. |
